Why Is an OTP Required for a Certificate of Deposit (COD) When Selling a Scrap Car?

The voluntary Vehicle scrapping Application or vscrap portal allows vehicle owner to fill online application for their vehicle at any Registered vehicle scrapping facility provider ( (RVSF ) in the country. When selling a scrap car, many authorized vehicle recyclers will require an OTP (One-Time Password) during the issuance of the Certificate of Deposit (COD).

The OTP is sent to the registered mobile number that has to link with vehicle owner’s identity or vehicle records. Buy entering the otp in system ensure the scrap the vehicle and verify transaction is authentic. This further help to mitigate the risk of unauthorized scrapping identity, theft and fraudulent dismantling the vehicle

The certificate of deposit is an official document generated after a vehicle is scrapped at a Registered Vehicle scrapping Facility ( RVSF ) it is valid proof that vehicle has been Recycled in accordance with government regulations.
